1. Explain, in two paragraphs, how the demographic transition and the migration transition relate to the cultural issues such as diffusion and conflicts.
2. Create a map of the Palestinian area and show: where the boundaries are currently; where the boundaries were originally supposed to exist; territories that Israel has taken over at one time or another; names for the various zones; religious sites and their location; what you think the future boundaries are likely to be. Explain how you decided where the future boundaries would exist.
3. Read the two articles about Muslims and France and answer the following questions: 1. Why do you think a divide exists between the French and the new immigrants? 2. How is the divide also a spatial issue? 3. Where are the countries involved in terms of the demographic transition and how does that help to explain the issues in France? 4. Do you think there is a generational difference between immigrants and their children and explain?
